About Esusu Images
Esusu Images is a collection of handmade African/American collectible dolls made by the international sculptor and doll artist Roxanne Abilogu.
Esusu Image African Dolls are truly unique works of art, each doll is made of colorful fabrics and are elaborately
designed and detailed. Each one-of-a-kind doll comes with a card containing its cultural information along with
a certificate of authenticity. Each is individually signed and dated by the artist. New dolls are featured every
month. There are three families of dolls:
1. The soft sculpture dolls come in four sizes, each doll is anatomically correct.
2. Esusu's fabric sculpure dolls are top-of-the-line, and you can get babies, children and adults. All dolls are jointed and anatomically correct.
3. The last family is the Tsoobi, which means 'Wooden Ladies.' These dolls can come as stander, sitter, and jointed dolls.
The artist, Roxanne Abilogu, was born in Chicago, Illinois. She has a background in sculpture and painting. With these skills she created the Esusu Images African Doll Collection. She started dollmaking in 1985 as a hobby, personalizing each of her dolls making them one-of-a-kind. She works from her studio in Los Angeles California. She has been featured in many magazines,newspapers, doll shows and on television! She was featured on the Carol Duval Show in October 2001 and will be featured again in the winter of 2003. Her dolls have won numerous top awards and have been featured in many libraries, galleries and museums. Her future goal is to teach African culture through the creations of dolls.
